City West - walking tour

On the tour you will dive into the pulsating center of West Berlin. The tour starts at the famous "Bahnhof Zoo", where the dingy corners known from "Christiane F. Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo" have disappeared and given way to chic new buildings.

Passing the Theater des Westens, the tour continues through Kantstraße to Savignyplatz and the boulevard "Kurfürstendamm". The Kudamm, as it is called by the Berliners, is not only known as a noble shopping mile, but also has a lot to offer as a cultural location. In addition to architecture from the imperial era, there are plenty of post-war buildings, some of which are now being replaced by spectacular new buildings, which is a good indication of the changes taking place in the cosmopolitan city of Berlin.
Through exciting side streets and passages it goes to Breitscheidplatz, where you can marvel at the ruins and the new building of the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, before you walk through the Bikini House with a view of the Berlin Zoo to the Europacenter. Passing the zoo and the Elephant Gate, the tour ends at Wittenbergplatz at the historic subway station and KADEWE, the famous Kaufhaus des Westens.
